Even as tax revenues rapidly increase every year, we continue to get additional tax hikes. One year it may be the state, the next the county and it seems this year is the city of Myrtle Beach's turn again.
If we lose the reputation as a low tax community, we will lose the vibrancy that makes this such a great place to live. When these tax-and-spend politicians come up for re-election, take a few moments on the internet and review their tax voting records. If the incumbents can't maintain fiscal responsibility, vote for someone who will.
