Family has alternative for changing ordinance
Re: Cathy Moore letter on Friday:
The Moore family of Surfside Beach feel that they were wronged because their request for a zoning variance was denied. Four criteria must be met before a variance can be granted. Their request did not meet these criteria. It as simple as that.
If the Moore family does not agree with the ruling, they can take it to court. Ron Ott did not intimidate me or I'm sure anyone else on the Board of Zoning Appeals. We are volunteers doing our civic duty.
If the Moores do not agree with the ordinance, they can work to get it changed. One way is to get involved in the process. Currrently there is an opening on the Planning and Zoning Commission. Please do not let their complaint be the determining factor as to whether or not you vote for Ron Ott.
