Residential builders should do better planning

Re the residents of Grande Dunes wanting to keep their community private:

I don't live in Grande Dunes but I fully support their efforts. Beyond that, I am amazed that again, the ill-informed political structure would allow such a huge development to be built with only an access road onto S.C. 31. Do they not realize that over 800 homes will likely involve at least 1,600 vehicles as most people have more than one car?

If the builder can't come up with a better plan that's his problem! I guess S.C. 31 will ultimately become another U.S. 17 Bypass fiasco. That road was supposed to be a bypass to the downtown area to ease congestion and provide for easier travel, and now it's light after light that is not even regulated properly to provide for smooth driving.

I think this proposed new development is going to be another Carolina Forest debacle.
