Political process is in a sad state
Congratulations to Hillary Clinton. she has soundly defeated Bernie Sanders in South Carolina, an aging socialist and her only opponent. Wow, what a victory, at least she will garner some legitimate electoral votes. She has been anointed the nominee of the Democratic Party for President of the United States of America, at least one full year prior to our elections.
She has avoided the press, was extremely selective in whom she permitted an interview, until recently when she realized that the process may not be the “cake walk” she expected. It is a disgrace that the Democratic Party could muster only three candidates for the nomination. Where was Joe Biden when he was really needed? Any one of the GOP’s candidates would offer a far better choice.
The whole process emphasizes the sad state of affairs our country is in. I am an independent but the coronation of Hillary and the debacle going on in the GOP have me asking, what in the world has happened to our once-loved and trusted political process. Are there any more John F. Kennedys or Ronald Regans, to mention only a few, to function in true leadership capacities as public servants, committed to “We The People”? We appear to be floundering as a nation and I can't help wondering just how many other honest-to-God Americans feel the same way.
