Not adding up: FCC’s lack of regulation letting down consumers
I don’t know about anybody else, but I’m getting tired of not being able to record the shows I want because the networks have all taken it upon themselves to dictate what I can record by having their programs always run over.
Instead of the show starting at 8 p.m. and running until 9 p.m., they end it at 9:01 or 9:02 (even 9:10) which then stops the ability to record a program at 9, since I get the message, “Due to conflicts with other programming, this program could not be recorded.”
I’ve contacted ATMC and they agree that they don’t control the time of their programming. They gave me the phone number of the FCC. In contacting them, they were totally dismissive by stating they don’t have any control over such matters, that I have to contact the individual station managers responsible. Excuse me, but the FCC has total control over what we see and how we see it.
This is just another example of a government agency that doesn’t care about anything or anyone but their own bureaucratic existence. They certainly don’t want to do their jobs to our benefit.
While I’m thinking about it, what ever happened to their past ruling that was supposed to stop the practice of commercials being so much louder than the shows?
