Don’t forget to thank your doctor on his special day
March 30 marks a day to celebrate the amazing work that all of our doctors do for our hospital and community. This day is to celebrate the contributions they make every day by caring for our patients and their families.
Although we recognize our doctors daily for the exceptional care they provide for our patients, this day is a reminder for all of us. The idea for Doctors’ Day came from Eudora Brown Almond, wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond, who decided to set a day aside to honor physicians in 1933. In 1990, President George Bush designated March 30 as National Doctors’ Day.
I applaud our doctors for their unrelenting commitment to excellent patient care. Thank you to all of our doctors for their leadership in the prevention and treatment of illnesses and injuries for our patients and their families!
Andrew Schwartz, chief medical officer, Grand Strand Medical Center
