Democrats to blame for Flint water crisis

As a Michigan resident, I read with interest the article that quoted the Democratic Congressman from S.C. about the Flint water issue. It is factually wrong, but since the Mayor and Flint City Council, all of whom are Democrats, are responsible for Flint leaving their county consortium that pumped out of Lake Huron and started to pump the water supply from the Flint river, the reason why he did it is understandable.

Flint being an old city has old piping with lead in it. The acidic nature of the Flint river water leached out the lead and thus contaminated the water supply.

The governor, who is a Republican, though some would debate that, rather than play the blame game took control of the problem and put the necessary pieces in place and solved the problem. Flint is now back again pumping out of Lake Huron.

Why the Congressman would make such derogatory remarks without knowing the facts smacks of blatant politics. He is trying to shift blame away from a Democratic political machine that is totally responsible for the problem.
