GOP would have field day if Bernie, Hillary teamed up
Re Dan Dean’s letter Thursday urging Clinton and Sanders to team up:
For the life of me, I don't understand how anyone could vote, or even consider voting, for Hillary Clinton. I worked for the federal government for 39 years (retired last year and moved to MB) and I had a top secret clearance, with background check and full scope lifestyle polygraph. I understand what constitutes a classified document.
For Clinton to claim “documents weren't marked classified” is a cop-out. Either she understands what makes a classified document classified (or, maybe she could have asked someone) or she doesn't. Either way, she exhibited poor judgment and is not qualified to hold any public office. The fact that she set up (outside of government channels) her own email servers displays: 1. she is above the law; 2. She doesn't trust the government's email system; 3. She has something to hide; 4. She didn't want her email audited like the rest of the federal government.
As for Bernie Sanders, I wouldn't consider voting for a man who didn't hold a full-time job until he was 40 years old and is an acknowledged socialist.
Furthermore, I don't see how the Republican Party would “be doomed” if Bernie and Hillary run together. If anything, the Republican Party would have a field day pointing out their tactics. One would assume that Obama will pardon Hillary, and like her husband, she could seek election despite repeated examples of using poor judgment.
P.S. I guess Dan Dean doesn't recall JFK and how the party was united then? To suggest that these two would unite the party like no other is silly.
