HOA boards are mostly OK
Re: HOA board essay Monday:
This should be mandatory reading for all HOA board members. Yes, the new boards still under builders’ strong arms have the burden of no control until their release from that builder. Existing HOA boards, for the most part as he mentioned, are doing well.
The few property owners who are never satisfied are part of what we call life in every HOA. When the HOA board members understand that their job is to make sure every owner within their ”realm” gets as much information about the articles regularly, that is their goal. When there is an inquiry either to the management company or the BOD directly, get a response to them ASAP.
In eight years on my BOD, and two of those eight as president, I learned much. Most importantly, the subject is not as important as the response.
One other part of the BOD job is to make sure everyone feels that he or she is the most important part of the HOA and is needed to make it a successful experience. The BOD cannot do the job alone.
