Which lawmakers disagree with Beatty?

Re: Beatty sole candidate for SC Chief Justice:

I was astounded to read in this article that “some conservative prominent white Republicans” have attempted to block Associate Justice Donald Beatty's election to the Chief Justice position because they were upset that he supported increased school funding for the low-income rural counties.

Not only are they concerned about this issue, they also are upset boecause he sided with consumers over car dealers in a case involving hidden costs unknowingly passed to consumers.

I would very much be interested to know who these Rebulicans are. As a lifelong South Carolinian, I am ashamed to be represented by these legislators and find it very difficult to believe that this is the will of the people of our state.
