What a great commentary by the Editorial Board (Sunday) on making the former Grainger Power Station site a recreational area for Conway and neighboring residents. It would be a complementary addition to the nearby Conway riverside park and Busbee Lake areas.

A regular bicyclist in those spots and on Marina Drive, I know others would welcome the expansion of Conway recreational offerings. Linking the riverwalk, park, that area, and Lake Busbee in a walking/biking trail in close proximity to the soon-to-be rehabbed peanut warehouse and downtown, no doubt will be an asset to Conway.

How about Conway, Horry County, the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corp., Santee Cooper and the State Department of Transportation partnering up to do this? ( Including the SCDOT in this to allow an overhead walk/bike bridge over U.S. 501, so users could easily access all areas without having to snake their way through city streets.) Spring is on the way, lets do it!
