Look beyond political debates
No question subject, dialogue and banter are very important, however, there are many more worthy points of a candidate to consider:
1. College grade point average (over four years) This is a reflection of how much a person has learned overall.
2. It’s a reflection of general intellectual ability.
3. Letters or recommendation from the college - adds a bit more to the accuracy of predictions.
The debate (to me) is somewhat of a “beauty contest” – the person who stands out in stature and manner is given too much weight.
I want substance, heart, experience, accomplishment, not “bull” and flamboyance. The proof is in the pudding. Research before you buy - like checking with Consumer Reports.
It’s not difficult to do - remember how impressive President Carter and President Obama were in debates – look what they have done to this country.
