Clinton aligned with wealthy backers

Bernie Sanders works for ordinary people. Hillary Clinton is aligned with the rich and the powerful.

She and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, earned a combined total of more than $153 million in paid speeches from 2001 until she launched her presidential campaign last spring. Both averaged over $200,000 per each address. Since the beginning of 2014 the two of them earned in excess of $25 million for delivering 104 speeches. In the current year alone Hillary Clinton has collected at least $1.8 million for eight speeches to big banks. Her chief pollster and strategist was a lobbyist for Citigroup and Goldman Sachs.

How could we possibly believe that large corporations, the big banks, the military-industrial complex, the pharmaceutical companies, etc. aren’t expecting special favors?

Bernie Sanders’ proposals are far more likely to help me and my family. He wants not only to protect Social Security and Medicare, he wants to expand them. He wants tuition-free college. He wants to take money out of politics. He opposes trade deals that send American jobs overseas.
