Writer calls out Trump, Sanders for dodging draft

I just want to remind South Carolina voters when you go to the polls, on some history of the front-runners. Donald Trump had four college deferments and some kind of medical deferment to stay out of being drafted during Vietnam. Not too hard to do at the time, especially if your folks were well-connected. Bernie Sanders declared himself a conscientious objector in order to stay safe.

Now they both want to be in position to send our kids to war. I wonder if the 55,000 kids whose names are on that wall would have voted for them? I know this is a different time and place but to me a draft dodger will always be a draft dodger. The rest of them were probably too young to dodge the draft. If you didn’t want to serve your country, you shouldn’t be trying to lead it. Just my two cents worth. Semper Fi.
