Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum looks to thank those who served
One of our core missions at Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum is to honor the brave men and women who have fought to protect our country’s freedom. This February, we hope to do the same for the nurses who cared for our nation’s bravest and often sacrificed just as much.
Museum staff members are currently searching for nurses who, during any conflict, provided care to injured troops overseas. Nurses interested in participating in an upcoming symposium that will be offered free to the public are asked to call 843-971-5046 or email cclark@patriotspoint.org.
In addition to those willing to share their stories, we are also looking for photos and videos that may be used to enhance a panel discussion, and items that can be loaned for use in a temporary exhibit aboard the USS Yorktown.
The symposium, titled Women’s History Month: Nurses in War, will be held at Patriots Point at 7 p.m. on March 31. We hope the community will take advantage of this free event and thank the nurses who played such a crucial role in the care of our injured troops.
