Handicapped parking tags are not a free ride
To those of you complaining about people using handicapped parking spaces:
Most of you, when you go shopping you park free of charge any place. A handicapped person has to pay any time he or she uses the designated spot because the tag is not free.
The cardholder has to pay at the doctor’s office to receive the paper showing need, and then has to pay at the DMV to get the tag.
Bob Bestler has more than one reason to use his tag. One, he served this country as a Marine and his problem could have originated there. Second, he also paid for the tag.
There may never be a time that you have to use a tag, but it could happen. Maybe then you will understand.
