Snowbird sings farewell to Myrtle Beach, home to civilization
No, I'm too dumb and I want to go home after 18 snowbird years.
I see my Canadian Prime Mister kissing Syrian babies, and I'm too stupid to clue into Ted Cruz, Trump, etc., and their hatred. I saw nice, humorous Lindsey Graham cradling an assault rifle. Why would any normal person want such a weapon? Lindsey, please clue us in, here. But, hey, I'm just plumb naive.
My wife had a knee-injury, it would have cost $15,000 here so we went home and treatment was free for us.
The Windsor Green fire of 2013? All was lost. We live four miles from the border, off Route 81.
I was too dumb to realize we could not have our Canadian prescriptions honored here at the time. But, hey, we are foreigners and here we are pathetic, privileged guests.
But, as I say, I'm too naive to appreciate the greatest country that ever existed. So, home to civilization.
Hugh Sutherland, Myrtle Beach
