Trump proposal on refugees sounds reasonable
Re Mande Wilkes, “Is Islam really a peaceful religion,” Sunday:
I take exception to the article on several levels. I think her question is a good question and I will defer the answer to the religious scholars. Also, I am not a fan of Donald Trump.
My exception is simply her comments are not true. Trump has never insinuated or stated all Muslims are bad and should not be allowed in the U.S. That is not what he said. His comment was to place a moratorium on new Muslims entering the U.S. until we have a better way to vet Muslims coming in from countries where the majority of the population are Muslims. An opinion is always welcome but the facts should always be the same.
Not all Muslims are terrorists, but we have every right to protect the U.S. What Trump is suggesting sounds reasonable to me.
