More rules for newcomers to Myrtle Beach

The Sun News file photo

I recently read the delightful letter from the newcomer learning the rules of the road since moving down here. I would just add a couple of other rules.

1. Those difficult directional signals are optional even for police officers.

2. If you do use a signal, only let it blink once (don't want to wear out the bulb) and immediately pull over.

3. When left turns signals are used, do not move into the intersection even if the individual on the opposite side also has a turn signal on.

4. When there is a traffic backup, you must tailgate even though none of us can barely move.

When I lived up north I periodically saw a car from South Carolina. I loved the license plate. It always made me smile. Such a nice plate: smiling faces, beautiful places. Lucky me, shortly after I moved here they changed the plate. Ugh!

A friend told me that there is positive and negative wherever you live. So far so good here in lovely South Carolina.
