Paper’s views insult GOP readers
I, for one, am tired of the snarky and coming-from-behind slaps at the Republican party. Do you not realize that there is a very large number of folks who are Republicans who buy your newspaper? It is not enough that you make light of our thoughts but you import other articles from other papers which support your liberal views.
Friday's paper featured a cartoon which shows Republicans as heartless folks who want to “punish” the victims of ISIS by not allowing them into our country. That is a crass assessment of the situation which plays into the thinking of folks who do not keep up with what is going on in the country. Knee-jerk reactions, for these folks, are the norm.
It makes no sense to allow young men from war-torn countries, men who are not vetted, in. Why are we spending money on people from other countries when we have a large number of homeless vets right here? And we know how abysmal their medical care is.
Does anyone with a modicum of intelligence really believe this administration's claim that they are all cleared? Lying is second nature in this administration. Security and FBI have all come forward and stated that was not true and that it was not possible to clear them. The folks in D.C. do not have your back and though a good many Democrats see government as their nanny, that thinking will come back to bite them. All one has to do is look at what has happened to this country during this administration and if one has any sense, they will realize this mess needs to ne fixed.
To end, I call on The Sun News to keep their views to themselves and to come to the realization that insulting their Republican readers is probably not a good idea. We do not pay you to expound your views. We pay you to report the news, not to try to influence us to your way of thinking.

Editor’s note: The opinion pages do not purport to report news, as do the news pages. The opinion pages host many points of view, with most of those writers seeking to influence thinking. That is one purpose of those pages. The newspaper strives for a balance of opinion pieces in a reflection of our audience.
