Vietnam veterans thank donors
The members of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Horry-Georgetown Chapter 925, would like to thank all those who donated so generously at a chapter fundraiser held at Sam’s Club this past Friday and Saturday, the 6th and 7th. When told that money raised at these fundraisers go to local veterans who are less fortunate than us, people really stepped up in their donations.
When asked how the money is used it was explained that at our December Holiday Dinner we invite veterans, who are not members of our chapter, but who could use some help. This December our chapter will be inviting 12 veterans and their families as our dinner guests and they will also be given Wal-Mart gift cards.
We thank the management and associates of Sam’s Club and the Seaboard Wal-Mart for allowing us to use their facilities to raise money to give to veterans in the community. We also thank the Golden Corral on Seaboard for allowing us to hold our monthly meetings and holiday dinner at their restaurant. Without the support of the people and these local establishments, Chapter 925 could not do what we do in helping others.
