Tide will win out in the long run

The Sun News file photo

Recently a woman business owner in Myrtle Beach stated she didn’t know what to do with the ocean and that “It doesn’t know where it belongs.” Now some Cherry Grove folks want someone to fix their tidal problems.

Whether it be the ocean, mountains, rivers, deserts, rainforests or any place else on earth, they were here first. Humans are the intruders and the problem, not the other way around. There are two forces humans continually battle against: Mother Nature and Father Time. We may prolong the struggles a bit but without exception those two will always eventually prevail.

The vast majority of the human race has never learned where they do not belong. Thank goodness more of us are becoming aware of the critical need to take action.
