Firing of school officer appalling

Twitter

I was appalled as I watched and listened to the news conference regarding the high school student who was removed from the classroom by the school resource officer.

The facts as reported are: a student disrupted a classroom of education; refused to follow teacher and administration instructions with disrespect; continued to disrespect and assault a police officer; and put the other students in that room at risk. The end result - the officer is fired and the student walks away with the attitude of “I won.”

Resolution to this situation: remove the resource officers from schools and replace them with prison guards to help these disrespectful, rebellious students transition into the prison system, as that is where they are headed. We wonder why some police departments are standing by and letting the punks of our society win. This is a good example. This sets a precedent for this student that she doesn't have to follow any direction or instructions given by anyone in authority, which includes teachers, administrators and law enforcement.
