Voters weigh in on upcoming election

Eric Campos

Anybody but Mark McBride

Do we really want Mark McBride back again? Here are some things he has done in the past: used a city credit card for a ski trip and tires, started a fight in a council meeting, lied to the public about him posing as Elmer Fudd and spreading lies about the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber, said he would nudge someone on a motorcycle if the rider had an offensive T-shirt, said all people do during bikefest is sit on their car and smoke dope, lied about a cartoon that was in The Sun News, depicting Mayor John Rhodes as being controlled by Burroughs and Chapin Co. Inc., opposing same sex marriage even when it’s the law.

We have been there and done it with him. I don't care who we vote for, but it can't be him again.

David Kirk, Myrtle Beach

Ethan Leyshon in council primary

My husband, the late state Sen. Dick Elliott, served the people of Horry County for over 30 years with honor and dignity. Having stood beside Dick throughout his lifetime of service, it is with great pleasure that I give my endorsement to Ethan Leyshon in the race to represent the people of the 3rd District on the Horry County Council.

Having known Ethan since my family hired him at Eagle Nest Golf Club, Ethan has become more than just an employee, but a close friend of my family. Ethan always approaches every situation with a smile and he genuinely cares about every golfer, regardless of their background. It is because of his disposition, I feel he is best qualified to be able to effectively build the relationships needed to achieve great things for Horry County.

Anne Elliott, North Myrtle Beach
