Thoughts of replacing the National Anthem ridiculous
Some days I find it hard to believe items I read in the newspaper. From out of nowhere people are talking about replacing our National Anthem. That's right, I said NATIONAL Anthem. Can you believe this? My friends, loved ones, clan and many I don't know personally have grown up singing this song, placing our hand over our heart and facing our flag.
Myself and many like me went to a foreign country to fight and protect our country and everything it stands for. That would include all the things we hold dear about our home.
Many people in the world go to bed each night wishing they could be a U.S. citizen and sing our National Anthem, pledge allegiance to our flag and live by the Constitution. Something is not wired correctly in our society when movements such as this take center stage. A letter to the editor recently suggested we change to “God Bless The U.S.A.” by Lee Greenwood (a Canadian citizen). Again I find some folks' thought process hard to process.
Why don't we all attend a baseball game and sing our NATIONAL Anthem together. It always make me feel proud to be an American. And oh yes, God Bless America.
