Lamakers ignore Amendment requirements
Does anyone in South Carolina care about the Constitution? The S.C. Constitution, that is. Apparently only about 1 percent, if that many, have ever even read it (the percentage may be slightly higher for our legislators), and even fewer seem to care about what it has to say.
This letter will touch on only one thing, the amendment process of changing the S.C. Constitution. The article on amendments is only three short paragraphs, yet both of the past two amendments put up for a vote in the last two general elections have managed to violate the clear wording of the article.
It would take me longer to present the details than a letter to the editor allows, so I will simply say that I am providing my contact information, just in case there is someone out there that does care about the Constitution of S.C. Please call me at 843-957-8180, and in less than 5 minutes on the phone I will prove to you that our legislators are doing what legislators everywhere seem to be doing, that is ignoring the constitutional boundaries and guidelines placed on them.
