Trump showing ‘he is what he is’ no cause for support

Re: Sept. 20 letter from Jenny Wald, “Trump’s spunk, humor have earned my vote”

I was really puzzled by this letter and somewhat disturbed as to whether the writer was expressing a tongue-in-cheek, sarcastic opinion in praising Donald Trump.

I certainly hope it was meant that way. I shudder to think anyone would vote for a presidential candidate based on their “spunk and sense of humor.”

While Mr. Trump appears to be winning over the middle class and others by telling them what they want to hear, he is an arrogant, egotistical, and prejudiced human being who shows absolutely no sense of diplomacy whatsoever.

If Mr. Trump was to be elected president, I fear we better brace ourselves for the likelihood of many crises that will only add to the world’s current conflicts. There are, thankfully, many more months of campaigning ahead, so one can only hope voters will see his true persona — oh wait, he already is showing “he is what he is.”

The writer lives in Myrtle Beach.
