Letter | Those Myrtle Beach ‘vultures’ are an eyesore, God-awful idea
Myrtle Beach “vultures” are God-awful
Referring to the “Black Vultures” now perched at each oceanfront street end between 32nd Avenue North and 52nd Avenue North in Myrtle Beach, did City Council members look at the design before they were approved?
Did the community appearance board review and approve the decision?
Myrtle Beach has been all about beautification for many years, and yet it has now put these gosh, awful-looking things in the air for the world to have to stare at. Try looking at the ocean in the afternoon and all one can see is the reflection of the sun from the “vultures” - an apt description.
Try looking at the silvery ocean on a full moon night and all one can see is the “vulture” perched in the air.
Whatever happened to the mantra of trying to have a most beautiful beach?
I have offered to paint the back side of the “vulture” at 48th Avenue North at my expense to blend in with the sea and sky, but sadly my offer has fallen on deaf ears so far.
The offer still stands, so permission from the city anyone?
