Player grateful for pickleball piece,but takes exception to ‘grunt’ description

I have been playing pickleball here in Myrtle Beach for over two years and it is great to see an article about this fast-growing sport. I must, however, find fault with your assessment of Rena Grant as someone who can “battle the best and win.”

I respect the fact that she can still get out on the court and try to play at her age, but to say that she can play with the best is ridiculous. I talk to many of my friends about pickleball and the last thing I want them to think is that I play against a 91-year-old woman who causes me to “release grunts loud enough to impress Serena Williams” as I miss her returns, as it is simply preposterous.
