Clerk bad choice forChristian martyr role
By jailing Kim Davis, we managed to make a four-time married woman a martyr for Christianity. How ironic. I’m sure the Pope is cringing. This could have been dealt with in a very simple way. Tell her to resign and if she refuses, simply remove her. Take her out of the picture.
No surprise, of course, that Mike Huckabee jumped on the chance to demonstrate his intolerance. To justify defying federal law he cleverly cites past wrong Supreme Court decisions, making the case that religious beliefs trump law. I would be willing to bet that he would only apply this defiance to the Christian faith and would prosecute any Muslims defying federal law by claiming religious beliefs in a heartbeat.
