Leonard Pitts hits the mark with Jimmy Carter column

TNS

Re: Leonard Pitts’ column Friday, “Jimmy Carter’s image of faith truest to what faith should be”

I’d like to say what a perfect way to describe how Jimmy Carter conducted himself during his life on this planet and how he’s facing the upcoming treatment for his cancer.

I’m not a man of faith, as I see all too often the tragedies done to our fellow human beings in the name of said faith. Mr. Carter did exactly the opposite, and as Mr. Pitts said in his piece, when confronted with the inevitable, he was at ease with whatever comes, and he “smiled as he spoke.”

How great would it be to have that kind of courage and peace of mind? Kudos to you Mr Pitts for your insight.
