Porters Bay residents left in the dust

Nearly six years after residents of the Porters Bay development were promised that the road would be paved if Jody Prince were elected. The road is still not paved.

When the paving of roads was being discussed at the recent Aug. 20 meeting of the county’s Infrastructure & Regulation meeting. Councilman Jody Prince is remarking that he also pays the $50 road maintenance fee, property and gas taxes. Well so do I and the 20-plus properties along and affected by the debris of Lawson Road.

There was a shining light at the meeting. It was Councilman Paul Prince. I was glad to hear him speak up for those in the county who live along roads that don’t get paved. He also spoke against always spending more road money for the tourists who do not live here. Maybe the next census my area of the county could be placed in Horry County Councilman Paul Prince’s district. Because my councilman Jody Prince is leaving my neighborhood in the dust.
