Obama following leads of Reagan, Nixon in diplomacy
To those who are convinced we should bomb Iran, I would ask that they research recent history where Republican presidents Nixon and Reagan mended fences with our perceived enemies China and the USSR instead of waging war.
Their efforts have resulted in peaceful co-existence and trading partnerships for the past 40 years. In the same fashion President Obama has re-established relations with Cuba and has offered a peaceful solution to Iran, much to the objections of U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham and his affinity for war. Statistics show the Iraq and Afghanistan wars resulted in the deaths of over 8,000 U.S.soldiers, while half of those who survived are either on disability or have applied for disability.
Think tanks have estimated the eventual cost of these two needless wars, Iraq and Afghanistan, will be in the range of $6 trillion. So when you hear conservatives bashing Obama for being a peacemaker think of Jesus who said “Blessed are the peacemakers.” Who do you stand with, those who follow the philosophy of Jesus or with the warmongers?
