Letter: Agreement will make Middle East, world more dangerous
Re: Aug 18 letter from Bill Warner, “Time to face facts: Obama is right on Iran; churches should say so”
How can you be so wrong and have held your position in the Navy analyzing military nuclear war? You would to have been sleeping to think that the sanctions were not working on Iran. They were working and that is the only reason that they were willing to negotiate.
We have so many tools to use against Iran and the world without going to war and yet you would guarantee that they get a nuclear bomb in a short time, which will bring on a worse war than we would have now, if it came to war. The whole world wants our business and the threat of implementing trade embargoes against them will get us more than conceding that they win and we will lose. If they don't respond, we will create more jobs in this country by making our own products.
What we need is a president that can negotiate like a used car salesman and military officers who are too honorable to go along with policies that they know are wrong for our country. With this deal the whole Middle East will be armed with nuclear weapons in a few years. We almost waited too long to take a stand in World War II and it cost us dearly in all the lives we lost. This will be a be an even bigger mistake if folks like you and our Democratic members of Congress don't wake up and realize that we still have the power to change history, but the time is now.
