Inequality not the root of societal ills
Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and other Democrats blame income inequality for many of the problems in today's society.
I see that as pure baloney.
There will always be differences in American incomes and net worth because Americans are only guaranteed equal opportunity, not equality of outcome.
How does it help the poor by increasing the taxes on households who, by government definition, are said to be rich?
Those households can now pay more than 50 percent of their incomes in taxes each year, state taxes included.
Socialist Sanders wants 70 percent and more. When is enough enough? Ironically 47 percent of household pay no income tax at all.
