Letter | Putting change in golf not so important it warranted a lead spot on the front page

Golf not that newsworthy

Re Aug. 15 news article “Pro golfers react to approaching PGA Tour ban on anchored putting.”

I was in the military for 20 years and was fortunate enough that I have been a lot of places. Being a kind of newspaper junkie, I have always subscribed to the local newspaper, including The Stars and Stripes.

I have been out of the military for 31 years and am still an avid paper reader, with the Washington Post being my absolute favorite.

In my more than 50 years of newspaper reading, I have never seen an entire front page devoted to putting.

I suspect there are a lot of your readers who agree with me.

I can only say you guys failed miserably at the purpose of a newspaper with this one.

Robert Muhl, Conway
