Letter: Debate brought lots of bashing, minimal information

My thoughts on the Aug. 6 GOP debate :

All candidates always do a really good job at bashing each other and ignoring the issues. That is the biggest thing that We The People are tired of seeing in debates. They can do that in their ads, not in a debate. We want real and true answers to the issues.

Having said that, I thought the Fox News panel did a great job at 5 p.m. with the first debate. Right from the start of the second debate Megyn Kelly clearly showed bias towards Donald Trump. She acted disrespectful and very unprofessional. She started off with a cheap shot at Trump.

Brett Baier did OK, but Chris Wallace showed the most professionalism. In my opinion, Megyn Kelly should be fired. If I were the head of Fox News, she would be packing her desk as we speak. The way she handled herself is the main reason that the majority of people no longer trust what the press has to say.

I have been an avid supporter of Fox news for over 10 years now because they started off being fair and balanced. There was nothing fair and balanced about Kelly's attitude tonight. Guess I need to start changing the channel more often. If she is not fired, she should never be allowed to host any other debate, Republican or Democrat.

After the last commercial of the 9 p.m. debate, the panel stated there would be one more question for each candidate about God, and then they would all give a closing statement. Because of Kelly, the question about God only made it to three or four when she interrupted that question. Does she also have a problem with God?

I tuned in to watch this debate to hopefully get some real answers to the real issues, not to watch the free-for-all biased attitude of Megyn Kelly. I feel all the candidates did well, given the fact they had to deal with a reporter who was more interested in starting a fight than getting real answers.
