Letter | Good news: Myrtle Beach area children already have a great place to study the Bible

Re July 23 letter, “Children need the God of the Bible to know right from wrong,” by Patricia Milley.

I agree with Milley. How do children learn about the God of the Bible?

Well, some of the more fortunate attend an after school program called Good News Club. They are sponsored through Child Evangelism Fellowship, a non-profit organization. Children receive a snack, sing, hear and discuss Bible stories and more. If you tell someone and they tell someone, it won’t be the best kept secret in Myrtle Beach any longer.

Little River Methodist is one of 37 churches involved in this program. The Good News Club is offered as an after school program in 27 schools in Horry, Georgetown, and Marion counties. We need help to spread the word about this wonderful program.

If you want to volunteer, help start a Good News Club, or discover how your church can be involved, please go to www.cefgpd.org or call 843-365-4233. We agree there is a strong need in our uncertain times to offer additional love and enrichment for our children.
