Letter | Smiling Moorers on front page an insult to Heather Elvis family

Lawyers, media hurting country

Am I the only one who is sickened by the photo of Sdyney and Tammy Moorer walking hand-in-hand and smiling at each other while walking away from the court house after being freed to take a trip together to check out a job?

The attorney is happy that they might find a job that would allow supporting their family. Are you kidding me? What about the Heather Elvis family?

They will never have the choice to support their daughter as a bride, mother, grandmother.

The media needs to give less publicity to alleged criminals.

I just don't think we need to rub it in the Elvis family's face by having such a picture on the front page. It's time we had compassion for the people who have been wronged, not the people who have done wrong.

What happened to common sense, to morality, to knowing the difference between right and wrong, to accepting responsibility and blame, to being a good example for your children?

And I cannot believe that a jury in Colorado would give a man who walked in and killed that many people in a movie theater life without parole.

There are lawyers who are making this country a mockery. Not to say there are not good attorneys, but they are few and far between.
