Letters to the Editor

Letter: Be careful who, what you vote for

I have no doubt that most of the people who live in states on the southeast coast are against offshore drilling. What I cannot understand is why most of these same people vote for people who campaign on drilling offshore.

We must remember that elections have consequences. The President campaigned as an environmental candidate and he lost most of the states in the southeast.

We want Social Security but we vote for people who want to privatize it. We want Medicare but we vote for people who want to make it a voucher system.

We need to start voting for people who think the way we do. If we are not willing to vote for people who want the kind of government we want, we need to learn to live with the decisions they make

We cannot vote the same way in every election and expect a different result.
