New TV show puts faith in bad light
Editor’s note: The show “Impastor” previewed on July 15.
I am appealing to all Catholics, Christians, People of God, followers of Jesus to strongly oppose and boycott the viewing of TVLand's the “Impastor.”
Through just the commercials alone, this is a series intended to create a blasphemous portrayal of our beloved pastors, priests and religious of all denominations.
I hold my faith very dear to my heart; my life and faith are extremely intertwined.
To create a television series in which a pastor is characterized in the manner in which the previews suggest is an insult and attack on the sacred place our pastors, of any denomination, hold in our hearts.
Is this merely a reflection of a lack of television or network creativity regarding new, wholesome entertainment on the part of the creators?
Have television writers reached that proverbial writer's block and have network executives grasping at any straw to attract viewers?
Please join me in making your voice heard, and say a prayer for these creators to see the light.
