Letter | Haley, others, pandering to voters over Confederate flag decision

State’s rights
Haley, others pandering to voters in flag decision
It was a tragedy what happened in Charleston but to take it and make it into a political agenda is wrong. The Civil War was about state’s rights, which the Supreme Court made a mockery of by overriding the states in Obamacare and destroying the sanctity of marriage.
I am ashamed of our governor and representatives for allowing it to be made a political agenda. Since the Confederate flag will no longer fly, do we stop flying flags other than the U.S. flag? Cannot these offend someone? I work with highly intelligent people of all races and respect them as a human beings.
However those who cry tolerance the loudest seem to be the least tolerant of all. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye. I am not ashamed to be from the South or that my ancestors fought for state’s rights. But I do not belong to any racist group. Where does all of this stop?
