Letter | American flags fly high on Waccamaw Neck
In 2011, three American flags where flying in Murrells Inlet on Business 17. Now more than 120 American flags fly on Nation’s patriot holidays, thanks to a dedicated flag committee of Murrells Inlet Elks Lodge #2797.
Starting with the large American flag at the Intersection of U.S. 17 Bypass and Business 17, flags fly for three miles south on Business 17. Flags fly at the Creekside Cottages complex and on Inlet homes. Business on the bypass are now fly the American flags. On the Fourth of July, over 100 American flags were flying on the Marsh Walk, this year.
As you travel down the Ocean Highway/U.S. 17, flags are flying, thanks to the Litchfield Beautification Committee. Turn onto Willbrook Boulevard, American flags fly, thanks to the Willbrook HOA, The Reserve and Traditions HOA.
Further down the highway, Pawleys Island Community Church, Pawleys Plantation and Alston Plantation, have flags flying. Flags fly at Ricefields Plantation. Let’s keep adding American flags.
