Letter | Charleston shooting: Racism must be defeated
Racism must be defeated
It is incredible that in this day and age, in this country, people worshipping in a church are shot and murdered. It is disgusting that it is an act of racism.
The murderer is a racist, pure and simple. We have yet to learn what drove his racism to murder.
Racism is not just a state of mind but a societal illness, a disease of the worst kind.
It is more subtle than cancer, but strikes as suddenly as a heart attack.
As we pray for the victims and families in Charleston, let us commit to eradicate this horrible affliction that continues to plague our communities.
