Letter | Hanna’s Christian background will serve him well on Horry County Council

Hanna has right values to join Council

It is often said by some that we should leave religion out of politics. However, like most people in Socastee and Forestbrook, I believe we should elect people who have a strong moral and Christian compass. Even our state constitution says, “Persons denying existence of Supreme Being not to hold office.”

There is one candidate that has a very strong set of religious beliefs, moral values, was raised in a religious home and is raising his family in a Christian home. That candidate is Kirk Hanna.

As a young boy he attended First Baptist Church of Myrtle Beach, where his grandfather was the Rev. Dr. Carl Compton and where his mother played the piano each Sunday.

We are all guided by values. We make decisions based on our life experiences and moral values. I am confident that when Hanna is elected on on June 16 to represent the Socastee and Forestbrook areas of Horry County, we will be able to know that all of the decisions Hanna makes will be in the best interest of the citizens of Dstrict 6.

Please join me and my family in supporting Hanna for Horry County Council.
