Untaxed trailers make no sense

South Carolina should be commended for realizing and taking action to tax electric, hybrid and alternate fuel vehicles to pay their fair share for road use.

What I do not understand is the unregistered and tax-free use of our roads by trailers. Some trailers weigh more than the aforementioned vehicles and even have more then four wheels.

Also, many are unsafe. Other states and the federal government should consider this route to help fund America’s highway system.
