Myrtle Beach stepped up to Bikefest challenge

The Myrtle Beach authorities need to be commended for this year’s Atlantic Beach Memorial Day Bikefest planning. Nothing is 100 percent, but the effort to react to the lawlessness of last year’s event is no doubt monumental. Instead of pretending that the problems of last year were an aberration, they planned this year for every public safety contingency they could think of.

Unfortunately, that decision means taxpayers will be paying this bill for a long time to come.
