‘Offensive’ letters must be allowed
Re: Judy Parker’s April 24 letter, “Letters shouldn’t contain “incendiary drivel.”
I thank God every day I live in America where the First Amendment grants us the right to free speech - even if it is offensive to others.
I have been greatly offended by some of the opinions and actions of others, but still believe in their right to express those offensive viewpoints.
And I’m thankful that we have a free press. Don’t we all have the right to publicly express our views?
Thank you, The Sun News, for allowing free debate and discussion of opposing views.
If you want to limit free speech or the press, you might consider moving to China, Cuba, North Korea …
For me, I thank God and a free press.
