Letter | Irish fest left visiting Irish couple disappointed

Festival

2015 event disappointedvisiting Irish citizens

We cannot allow our disappointment to go unheard.

My husband I have been wintering in Myrtle Beach for a number of years and love the area. However, the recent Irish festival was a disgrace. We are both dual Irish citizens and have visited Ireland many times.

We have never seen gyros, taco salad or Italian sausage sold at a true Irish festival. Maybe the event organizers could have had Bangers or potato soup and maybe even ham and cabbage.

The Irish music was weak with too much “rock” Irish.

One thing they did get right — they had Irish beer, which, I feel was their main concern. The people of Ireland, are a fun-loving and friendly people and love the U.S.A.

Your Irish festival was a disgrace to Ireland and her people. “Shame.”
