Too many hurdles in Myrtle Beach area for hard workers like me
Are truck drivers really welcome in Horry County? I have been a citizen here for five years, and I have operated my own tractor trailer for double that time. Yet, since my move, my career as a truck driver appears to be more of a nuisance for this area than acceptance.
Most neighborhoods have homeowner’s associations that frown upon bringing 18-wheelers into the community. There are no truck stops past Aynor for those who live in Conway, Myrtle Beach, and beyond, to park their trucks in a safe, nearby environment.
Since there are no truck stops, many drivers started parking at Walmart. However, the Walmarts in this area are now banning trucks from parking when this organization was once known for being a safe haven for drivers.
Horry County makes room for RVs and tour buses, and it should be the same for truck-driving citizens. I pay taxes like every other Horry County citizen, so shouldn't I be allowed to park in a safe environment without fear of being towed?
